One-way Audio - Firewall Mis-configured
If you encounter One-way Audio on telephone calls, it means your Port Forwarding Rules have not been set-up, or there are other firewall related issues that need diagnosis.
Port Forwarding Rules
We do not publish our custom port forwarding rules. Contact us for the proper port forwarding rules for your SIP / VoIP Telephone line service and phone system configuration.
Related settings to check in your Firewall:
- Disable: SIP / ALG
- Disable: UPnP **Security Related Issue**
- If using our VoIP Telephone Line Service - refer to your set-up sheet for PORT FORWARDING RULES.
- NOTE: Some NAT Rules or NAT Settings in some higher-end Firewall Appliances can cause issues, or re-writing of ports being used to transact SIP Telephone Calls. You may need to further diagnose with your IT party if applicable.
Other related One-way SIP Audio Issues
Confirm SIP / VoIP Account is fully registered in your system to the VoIP account, see your main console page after logging in.
Confirm IP of the main phone system box is online. Also ensure you have followed the DHCP Reservation Policy we have explained here. Double check the IP of the phone is not changing, IE: That it's IP is also reserved properly in the DHCP control device.
Other network related issues can cause this issue. While we HIGHLY recommend NOT using "Managed Switches", that is not always possible or viable for some IT parties who are involved, or due to existing equipment being in place until end-of-life can warrant replacement. You will need to further diagnose this issue with your IT party as we can not assist on non-PBXSystem.ca installed network devices, or non-approved network hardware in most cases.
